Question #1:

Why does yahoo seem to be biast like other forms of media?

No slandering parties here in your replies please.
Looking at the headline on the GOP candidates and I noticed yahoo always seems to bash (even if its lightly) on republicans. Now I'm neither republican nor a democrat, I believe there are too many issues at hand to put them into 2 categories. So, my question is, should a third party site or company (like Yahoo) which makes its money from advertising and gives news to viewers of all types be aloud to be biast politacally. Doing so subliminally changes peoples views and leads fools to the wrong direction because they are only getting their views from one source.
This question holds true to places like Fox and CNN, should they be aloud to be politically biast as they are a source of news for people of all political views.
I've seen it on Yahoo many times, and Fox claims to be equal but they always slam candidates of one party and not the other, and CNN does the same.
That makes sence then, thanks for the input.

Question #2:

What was some propaganda during World War I?

i need some ideas for a propaganda project. i'll probably make a poster advertising some propaganda, so any specific examples would be great.

here's some more details about the project (you don't have to read it):
The Propaganda will be relating to events that happened during WWI. The propaganda should represent a country or organization, and should be historically accurate.
1) Emotional Appeal. It gives the viewer an emotional response, such as anger, guilt, or fear. (sad polar bears)

2) Lies or half-truths. Propaganda is one sided and often resorts to lies and distortions of the truth to make their case.

3) Name-calling. Effective propaganda often de-humanizes its opponents by resorting to name-calling.

4) Call for action. Propaganda wants you to do something. (Join the army, buy liberty bonds etc.)

5) Symbols. (For example, in the USA we can use the flag, an eagle, or the Statue of Liberty as symbols for our country)

6) Testimonials. (Someone famous endorsing your belief, Briney Spears says, "Austria Hungary is the best!")

i'll choose a best answer if there is one, so PLEASE NO BS ANSWERS. thanks.
and i can't really copy exactly from another poster, so yeah.

Question #5:

Blurry lines between independent contractor and employee status ?

I am a massage therapist and esthetician renting space from another massage therapist. She always gives me advice but I feel like she is micromanaging me. I pay for advertising and she wants me to put her business name on all my ads and wants me to greet clients saying hi, welcome to (her business name). She doesn't promote me in any way. My biggest mistake is not getting a written agreement for us both to sign because she raises my rent based on how well she sees I'm doing, and also raises the cap that she verbally tells me my rent will never surpass. Should I be clear about getting a written agreement (which she doesnt believe in ) and that I shouldn't have to promote her business since I am independent.? Or does it sound like I should find another place to practice my business?

Question #6:

Why would a firm advertise walking sticks with a wheel?

What 's the world coming to?

Question #7:

Why are there no Hunger Games midnight premier showings in my area?

I live in northern MD and the tickets went on sale yesterday. Yet I can't find any theaters that are showing a midnight premier of it in my area.
I am so pissed off right now because these theatres even aren't selling advance tickets for the opening day! I'm a huge fan of the books and really want to go to this.
Is this meaning that this isn't going to be a big deal in the box office? I see all these advertisements on fandango, youtube, and all the movies sites yet why is there nothing for it.
My friends say that it is going to end up being a minor movie because they aren't advertising it on television like they did with Twilight and Harry Potter.
So what the hell is going on??????????/

Why can't my ipod be synched? Says need more space?

I spent so much damn time deleting music so i could download music on my ipod but a box comes up and says Your ipod cannot be synced because 2.53GB of free space is needed to hold all of the items in the itunes library. My library is only 3.9GB and i have an 8GB ipod. Really only has 6.3 because apple is gay and falsely advertises, but i cleaned almost everything out and on the bottom, it says i should have enough room to download, but it won't let me. i even got rid of all the album artwork and it still wont let me. it says you need need more room. i created a playlist with all my songs and again, wouldnt let me. i already have like 500 songs (4GB) on there but its being really gay and need help.
I dont want to clear it all out cause i have a few games and i dont wanna lose their progress. Plus it was synced to another computer and if that doesnt work, i wont have any music at all.

Question #14:

Okay, so here is my follow up question on the youtube channel feminist frequency?

I selected these two videos because there was a bold conclusion drawn without evidence.
this is part one of the series. It shows that there are clear distinctions between the legos marketed to girls and the ones marketed to boys. this isn't the one I have a problem with.

Notice she says gender is not a social construct because girls used to be associated with blue, and boys were associated with pink. That is the only evidence she brought up to why gender is a social construct. She neglects to acknowledged that in present times the reverse is true, and because it is a social construct doesn't mean it has no inherent value in advertising, girls are probably more likely to play with toys they know are marketed towards them.

In her second video she states that originally lego advertising was gender neutral, and in the ninteen sixtees (or seventies) they changed to market solely to boys. She then asserts the only logical conclusion that can be taken from this is that legos is pro-patriarchy.

My question is: IF LEGOS SALES WERE ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY TO MALES WHEN THE ADVERTISING WAS GENDER NEUTRAL, WOULDN'T IT ONLY MAKE SENSE TO CURB YOUR MARKETING STRATEGY TO APPEAL TO YOUR KEY DEMOGRAPHIC?

here is the second video(the one my question is based on):

Question #15:

How to start a summer lawn mowing job?

Over the summer, I would like to start a lawn mowing job because I cant find a job so mowing grass is the only way for me to make money. I have a lawn mower and trimmer. I can only mow around my neighborhood due to having no car. How should I advertise and how much should I charge? I live in a small town in Florida.

Question #16:

Do the evolution deniers realize the message they are sending to the world?

Every time you post some utter nonsense about what evolution is NOT (because you've been fed a pack of lies by your cult leaders), you advertise to the entire world that ignorance is a requirement for Christianity.
Even though ALL the mainstream denominations ACCEPT it (because we actually KNOW what it IS), we have to be tarred with the same "stupid" brush, thanks to you all.
HOW will that ever bring more souls to salvation?

Prove you are not in the clutches of a vile cult that is seeking to destroy Christianity by making us all seem delusional. Take the time to actually LEARN what it is you are so opposed to. You'll find out that there is nothing threatening about it!

Genesis 1 is at BEST a figurative OUTLINE of creation. There are no details at all, so HOW can it be scientific? Where is the Organic Chemistry? Where is the Physics? Where is the Genetics?
God never intended for us to remain IGNORANT for 5000 years!
We were EXPECTED to LEARN about creation, and science helps us discover and understand it.

Evolution is a proven fact of life and your continuing to ignore the evidence does not make it go away!
It just places you out of touch with REALITY.

Question #17:

are snacks advertised as low-calorie puffed up with air?

Question #18:

Broker raised rent TWICE in the same month, now we're scared. Should we be concerned?

PLEASE read this carefully. I'm not saying that MY rent has been increased twice in the same month.

There were two apartments available at a rental, and we've signed a one year lease for the second floor unit. Last month, this unit was advertised for $150 less per month than what the first floor is currently being advertised for. However, please note there were two sudden increases for the available first floor apartment. The first right after we gave the brokers the application for the second floor (by $50) and then, in the same month, right after we signed the lease the first floor went up by another $100 per month. We feel like we are sitting ducks for a very steep rent increase in as little as one year and we'll have little choice but to move. Do you think it's obvious that when our lease expires in one year we will be hit with a $100 or even a $150 increase per month? Should we inquire with the broker why the increase occurred like this, or is it likely we'll never get the truth?

There's also no rent control in my state.

Question #19:

Inside the Highly Organized World of ‘Community Organizers’ Who Are Busy Organizing People to Organize Other P?

The New Organizing Institute, a group that got started a few years ago, has been described as the ‘West Point of community organizing.’ Now they have put out a video advertising the profession of organizing. It is liable to bring tears to the eyes of Americans of all political persuasions, whether from inspiration or laughter:

Question #20:

Can you get into these places without an adult?

Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Museum of Art And Design
Museum of Moving Image

Does anyone know if I'd be able to get into these without being accompanied by an adult. Some museums and places have policies that 17 and under can't get in without adults, but some don't clearly specify that. I'm 15, so if anyone knows if I'd be able to get into those places alone, then tell me please. I went to the Museum of Modern Art alone, but when I got there, they told me I needed to be accompanied by an adult, but they advertised that nowhere, not on their website, even when I called to ask them on the phone, they said I'd be fine. If anyone knows if I can get into those places, it'd be appreciated, I don't want to travel all the way to them for no reason.
